The Mars colony is under bombardment from a passing asteroid field. You control the shield turrets â click anywhere in the red Martian sky to launch a shield burst that expands and destroys asteroids. Protect all 6 colony domes!
How to Play đĄī¸ Shield the Domes
Shield the Domes is a wave-based defence arcade game set on the surface of Mars. Six colourful glass-domed habitats form your colony, each a different colour, each containing tiny plants and structural framework visible through the glass. Two shield turrets flank the row of domes, ready to launch shield bursts into the sky. Every wave, a swarm of asteroids falls from above, targeting your domes. Some are ordinary grey rocks, some are small and fast (worth more points), and starting from wave 3 you will encounter purple splitter asteroids that break into three mini-asteroids halfway down â punish them before they split! Click or tap anywhere in the sky above the domes. A cyan shield burst launches from the nearest turret, arcs to your click point, and detonates into an expanding shockwave. Any asteroid inside that shockwave is vaporised. Timing is everything: launch too early and the burst finishes before the asteroid arrives, launch too late and it will hit a dome first. You have limited ammo per wave (30 to 50 shots) â do not waste them. Every dome that survives the wave earns you a bonus 100 points. When all 6 domes are destroyed, the game ends. Waves get progressively faster and denser, and your best score is saved locally. The Mars setting features a rusty red sky, distant mountains, a starfield above, and rusty crater-strewn ground below. Family-friendly with no war or violence themes â just protecting a peaceful science colony from a natural hazard.
