Scroll the Void is a free browser experiment that turns scrolling into a measurable journey. Scroll downward and watch your distance tracked in real units — millimetres, centimetres, metres and kilometres. The page adds more void as you scroll so it never ends.
How to play: Simply scroll down using your mouse wheel, trackpad, or by dragging your finger on a touchscreen. Your maximum scroll distance is measured and converted into real-world units. The further you scroll the bigger the unit — from millimetres to centimetres to metres to kilometres.
Milestones: As you scroll further, distance markers appear showing you what your scroll distance corresponds to in the real world. You might pass the height of a building, then a mountain, then the cruising altitude of a plane, and eventually into the outer atmosphere. Nobody has scrolled to the Moon yet — it would take a very, very long time.
What is the point? Honestly? There is no point. That is the point. It started as a joke and became oddly satisfying. It is the browser game equivalent of popping bubble wrap — purposeless, repetitive, and inexplicably compelling.
