Mastermind is a classic code-breaking game of logic and deduction. The computer secretly picks a hidden code of four colours, chosen from six possible colours (repeats are allowed). Your job is to crack that exact code within ten guesses. After you submit each guess, you get feedback in the form of small pegs: a black peg means one of your pegs is the right colour in the right position, and a white peg means a peg is the right colour but in the wrong position. Crucially, the clues do not tell you which pegs they refer to â that is the puzzle. By carefully testing colours and reading the feedback, you narrow down the possibilities until you deduce the secret code. To play, pick a colour from the palette, tap the pegs in the active row to place it, and hit Submit. It is a brilliant little workout for logical thinking, and intensely satisfying when you crack the code with a guess to spare.
